Smoking Areas at Suvarnabhumi Airport
While Suvarnabhumi Airport implemented a complete smoking ban in 2019, as of October 2024, there are still designated smoking areas in several locations. This article will guide you to the outdoor smoking areas and those within the restricted areas.
Outdoor Smoking Areas
Both arriving and departing passengers can use the outdoor smoking areas.
- 4th Floor (Departure Level): At the end of the left side after exiting Door 10.
- 2nd Floor (Arrival Level): On the right side after exiting Door 4.
- 1st Floor (Taxi Stand): At the far left and right corners of the airport building. (Note: These are quite far.)
Smoking Areas Within the Restricted Area
Satellite Terminal
- There are 6 smoking areas in the satellite terminal, serving Gates S101-128. This is convenient for passengers departing from the satellite terminal.
- Note: Access to the satellite terminal is generally restricted to passengers with tickets departing from that terminal.
Miracle Lounge in Main Terminal Concourse D
- You can smoke even after clearing immigration. A smoking area is located in the Miracle Lounge near Concourse D6 on the 3rd floor of the main terminal restricted area. This is convenient for passengers using Gates D1-D8.
About Miracle Lounge
- This lounge is accessible with a Priority Pass. It offers light snacks, alcoholic beverages, shower rooms, and free Wi-Fi.
- For Rakuten Premium Card holders, a companion can enter for 3,000 yen, which will be charged to the Rakuten Premium Card.
- If you don’t have a Priority Pass, you can purchase a ticket in advance on Klook.
- The general admission fee is 1,200 baht.

Important Notes on Smoking in Thailand
Thailand has strict regulations and penalties related to smoking.
- Bringing cigarettes into the country: One carton (200 cigarettes) per person is allowed.
- Bringing in and using electronic cigarettes is prohibited.
- Smoking is generally prohibited in public and commercial facilities, except in designated outdoor smoking areas.
- Littering cigarettes is prohibited.
Violators may face fines, and refusal to pay may result in detention.
